The Alabama Banking Department
has taken over the First Lowndes Bank. It will be taken over by First Citizen's Bank in Luverne. It's the first bank takeover in Alabama since the much larger Colonial last August. FDIC phone number to call for more information is 1-800-450-5417 till 6:00pm today and tomorrow, Sunday, Noon till 6:00pm.
