Passover

Great story in the N.Y, Times---in case you missed it---about the Obama Administration and Passover, which begins tonight at sundown.
I couldn't help but remember Governor Fob James having a Rabbi at his seond (1995) Innaugeration to blow the ram's horn, a much different mixing of politics and religion than the one described in the Times article.
     May your Passover be gentle.

[NOTE: Houston Chronicle this morning has a story about Christians celebrating Passover...to the chagrin of some Jews.]

The Houston paper is correct. I'm not comfortable with "Christian Seders."

I would not like to hear about a Christian Eucharist in a Buddhist temple.

What about Buddhists celebrating Christmas?

Christmas has become the most recently adopted celebration in Japan.

It happens, you know...

What kind of Christmas in Japan?

The religious (the birth of Jesus) or the secular (bunnies, eggs, etc.?)

Last I checked, the characters for that time of year would be Jolly Old Saint Nick, Frosty the Snowman, and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer... including, of course, the Three Wise Men, Holy Family, and the infant Christ Child. ;-)

Why, the consumer-driven "gift giving" type, of course!
