MMMM #492 -- Saving Bob Simon's Whiskey Island story.

"There's never been a situation where a correspondent died and we had another correspondent finish the story. Actually write most of the story based on some of his notes as well..."

The correspondent was Bob Simon...the story was Scotch in Scotland on a little island where perhaps the best scotch in the world is distilled.

The story of how the story was finished---it aired Sunday night on 60-Minutes---is a story unto itself. Watch 'em both.
HERE's the backstory.
HERE'S the story as it aired last night.

You may know I am a life-long fan of 60 Minutes, and this one is vintage.

  1. I just heard you say, "Bentley said he would veto the casino bill."

    That's not true.

It will not go to the Governor; it's a Constitutional Amendment and will go to a vote of the people.
