MMMM # 501 --- End of a Journalism Publishing Legend---"Structured" stories...and more!

I used to read the actual Columbia  Journalism Review magazine---a Birmingham Radio Station actually subscribed to it.
Now comes word that months after the 54 year old physical magazine will came to and end, USA Today reports even the virtual online product is about to die.
That may say more about the future of journalism than I care to admit.
How will the standards supported by the the CJR be circulated---and supported?

###

I suppose it is ironic that there is a link to a CJR story in this MMMM too. It is a story about "structured journalism", a concept so new that I'll bet not one in a thousand people in Alabama media know what t is.

This idea, which is gaining hold in newsrooms like The Boston Globe and The Washington Post, challenges the supremacy of the narrative, non-interactive form that, despite an explosion of digital innovation, remains the cherished mainstay of journalism.
###

And the Washington Post wrote about a much more direct  piece of evidence that newspapering is dying. And some media critics say "bout time!"

Any chance broadcast journalism will step up and be that force?
