Alabama Raised "True Blood" Star Dead at 39.


     Nelsan Ellis has died, an actor who was born in Illinois, but moved with his siblings to Alabama to live with an aunt till he was fifteen. From Wikipedia:

Ellis attended Jess Lanier High School for a year, then transferred to McAdory High School.[3] He moved back to Illinois at age 15, where he lived with his maternal aunt, and in 1997 he graduated from Thornridge High School in Dolton, Illinois.

     Ellis graduated from Julliard and He played the part of gay cook Lafayette in True Blood on HBO for 80 episodes over seven seasons. He later earned a roll in CBS' Elementary.

     He died of heart failure in Los Angeles. He was 39.
