Saturday Data: The Last Confederate Town. In NEW YORK!

Yup, there was  a small New York State town that decided to join Alabama and the other ten states in the Confederacy, though it's unclear why.

Conde Nast travel magazine has the story of Town Line, NY, not far from the Canadian border, which (spoiler alert) no longer considers itself confederate land.

(Thanks to Yankee News editor Jay for passing this along from his new home in Maryland.)

  1. Thanks for the credit, Tim.

Friday July 14 marks two anniversaries: 1789, the French Revolution and 2014, our move to Frederick MD.

    Coincidence? Maybe not!
