Maybe she had a traumatic experience with police in her past.<br /><br />Prior to moving to Alabama in 1996 we lived in Maryland near the DC line. Down the road from our house was a real Southern style BBQ joint.<br /><br />Maryland laws prohibit giving free meals to police officers. However, no law regulates portion sizes.<br /><br />So, police officers and their families would converge on this humble restaurant in a rather seedy neighborhood. The owner would heap huge portions on their plates. There would almost always be a police car or three parked outside.<br /><br />That restaurant was never robbed.Jay Croftnoreply@blogger.com
