Coincidences

A column by Dick Cavett on that topic in the Times this morning reminded me of an amazing coincidence in our family's life. It was in June of 1968, time for my parent's wedding anniversary. I was living at home in Queens, my brother was in the Midwest in the Air Force, and my sister was living on Long Island. Despite our geographic distance, all three of us bought the exact same anniversary card, white with red roses on the front. My folks displayed the card trio for many many years in a china cabinet in their house, though I'm not sure if anyone saved them after my parent's deaths.
