Media Extra: Bodies

The incredibly sad story of the woman and her two young sons drowning as they tried to escape Syria to safety in Europe raises the issue of when it is OK to show a dead person on TV.
CBS and virtually all of the American networks carried the photos of the two year old's body at the edge of the water...and pics showing a rescue worker carrying his limp body away. Some sited pixilated the child's face or entire body, though it was clear that was happening.
I've posted about the issue before, asking why it OK to show such images if the bodies are thousands of miles away when no broadcaster would ever show the body of an American child?
