Hate Red Light Cameras? Study says they DO save lives.

Montgomery officials were recently forced to shut down the city's speed-camera program.
Radar equipped cameras were installed in police cars which were parked on the side of the road, spitting out tickets to the registered owners of cars going over the limit.
State Legislators passed a bill stripping the right to use them form Montgomery.

But there are other automatic cameras still in use, the ones at intersections that issue tickets to cars that "run" red lights.
A report out today from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety finds those cameras reduce accidents and traffic deaths. ABC TV News has the story HERE.
