Are we less happy because we are drinking less coffee?

This diagram from an annual report ranking countries by happiness points to less coffee and more carbonated beverages as a factor.

I'm happy, and I don't drink coffee. Never have and never will.

And so far, I've lived five years longer than my wife, who recently started drinking coffee again, despite her doctor's recommendation not to.

I enjoy it, and there seems to be sufficient research in favor of coffee,...not sure why her doctor would say no---is it related to a condition she has?

Yes. I think it's about her thyroid.
