APT -- Petitions Delivered

I'm not sure how much attention it will get, but a group including APT employees, The Southern Poverty Law Center, and religious leaders delivered petitions to APT Headquarters in Birmingham this afternoon, protesting the proposed airing of video by a minister who teaches the U.S, was founded on Christianity.
WBHM Public Radio covered it and you can read or listen to their report here.
Charlie Grantham is the current APT CEO, and he is probably setting himself up to be fired (if it hasn't happened already)..but he thanked the folks delivering the petitions for their support.
Grantham wrote an open letter to the Governor earlier this week, critical of the Alabama Educational Television Commission and Foundation.
Grantham has been at the network so long that he could easily retire on a state pension. Did he break any regulations or laws by opposing the board? Will the board chair---an Assistant Alabama Attorney General---prosecute?

  1. Excuse me but Mr. Lennox the five other members that sat with the seven(AETC) made up the AETF making the total twelve.
They the five resigned/stepped down shortly a day or two after the CEO & CFO were allegedly "FROG MARCHED" out of the main office with their personal articles. So in essence there was no AETF at that time. It was voted five to two (AETC) to follow through with the terminations, there were two that chose not to vote on the matter a male and female commissioner. The male is an alumni of ASU. However Mr. Boomershine was contacted to be interim CEO before the preverbal ax fell upon the CEO's and CFO's neck.

  2. Mr. Lennox
There is one more thing concerning the acting COO Mr. Grantham, he is a retired State Employee and being paid out of the AETFA's pocket.
