9 days for Dust Settling

That's what a judge's order give state government. A pause. A Time for cooler heads to prevail, unlike the chaos of the night a school "flexibility" bill was rewritten in secret and became a "school choice" bill.
Writes John Archibald in The Birmingham news:

Does a body that willfully breaks the rules to get its way deserve to have more power?

One of the GOP architects of the rewrite says Judge Charles Price's temporary stay is a "liberal political" decision, and that the (apolitical?) Supreme Court will surely overturn it.
When the Republican Party made it a goal to take over the Alabama Supreme Court, this is the kind of power they were seeking. A 100% GOP court to approve their legislation and politics too.
Of course Roy Moore, a kind of anti-GOP Republican Chief Justice is in charge, so who knows?

  1. Tim,

I meant to mention it before but there was a rape (?) story recently out of Highland Home, Alabama. You stated that the incident was, "at a home in Highland."

The town's name is Highland Home.
