When I read the anonymous comments left by readers in newspapers on or off line, I can't help but wonder if the papers have decided to become more like talk-radio and less like a true journalistic endeavour. Now a survey indicates that put me squarely on the side of editors. A majority say reader comments, online or off line, should include the real name of the person making the comment. Your thoughts???
I think that letters printed in the paper should always have the real name of the person writing them.
ReplyDeleteI also think editorials in the paper should have the name of the writer.
Online though I support anonimity...although I fully admit to wishing on numerous occasions that I new the name of the bone-head who left a mean, nasty comment.
