F*I*R*E*F*L*Y

I spotted my first firefly of the Summer this evening. I had just run out for a quick take the trash out when he winked at me, instantly, as always, transporting me to childhood and the glass jar with the holes punched in the cover. Do children still do that? The photo is of a battery operated reproduction I bought last year...every now and then I turn it on and turn out the lights in the room. It's not the same, of course, but then again December isn't June.
