VW & The Union

There are denials out today from Alabama economic developers, but the story discussed in Friday Night's FTR said Alabama was pulling back on it's pursuit of a VW plant for the state. As the story would have it, VW had made a deal with the UAW, meaning if Alabama won the plant, it would be welcoming the first unionized auto plant in the estate. Again, there are denials out today from Neil Wade and others, but watch FTR online for our conversation with Chamber of Commerce Association CEO L. Ralph Stacy, who suggests there may be more going on that the unionization effort. The online version will be available Morning. Alabama's status as anti-union territory is one of the factors that has helped it attract other automakers.

Reminder: The new Monday Morning Media Memo continues next week with commentary on media-generated polls.
