NEVER too late
That's a statement, a philosophy, a belief, and now, most important of all, the name of the first CD by Bob Corley, the long-time musician who also happens to be the manager of the APT facility in Montgomery!
Bob recorded the eleven tracks at the Straight-Up Sound studio in Nashville and it has been interesting to watch him go through the tedious and stressful process! Every detail was important, of course, from deciding which of his songs to record to the name to the cover art...you get the idea! Bob and Sandra's two kids each have a title dedicated to them..."When She's Here" (Callie's Song), and "That Was Me, Back Then" (Niko's Song). They were just young 'uns when I started at APT, and I spent a lot of time talking family stuff with the parents, so I'm close enough to them that I sometimes feel like I helped raise 'em! I'm willing to bet Callie shed more than one tear when she first heard her song, and I know Niko had to feel that internal swelling kind of pride that only a son can feel for his Dad when he heard his! Also noteworthy is "Southern Baptist in Amsterdam", inspired by Bob's European travels (Yes, that really is him on the inside cover...he had a lot less wear on him and a lot more hair...(-: )
I also have a special affinity for the first cut..."A Penny More" had it's broadcast premier when Bob allowed me to use it on a half-hour program I produced about old shut down Alabama clothing mills.
"Never Too Late" is available online, and you can listen to sample tracks on CD Baby
Give it a listen and go ahead and buy a copy! You'll be supporting an Alabama artist and adding some great tunes to your collection!
