I dare say that most, if not all, of the problems that businesses in our present economy are suffering because of poor management. Part of that mismanagement is an imbalance of debt to asset load, also sometimes known as debt ratio. Simply put, they had more debt than free and clear assets. What these folks were thinking is beyond me. The natural, normal cycles of our economy have in recent years been "boom & bust". That's not good. We need greater stability in our economy and economic output. We need a long-term view of our economy, not a 'get it while it's hot' short-term gain perspective.
