Wikifakea

If you've ever looked up or posted information on the user-contributed Wikipedia, you know it is easy to insert false information. Now some newspapers have been caught copying a made-up quote that was posted as a hoax in the online encylopedia. I've only posted once on Wikipedia...adding some information about a Hotel in NYC at which Raphael Semmes was a guest. But the very nature of the beast makes using it for research a risky business.

  1. "Why Tim! I'm ashamed of you!," said Kevin half-mockingly.

Following up with a wink, he added, "Don't you know that Wikipedia is THE bastion of truth, honesty, proper style and knowledge the world over? And, to make things better, the good ol' boy whom founded the gosh-darn thang is frum Hunt's Village (aka Huntsvegas) in north central 'Bammy!"

In fact, the Wikifakeia article on you indicates that you secretly (it's not secret any more!) own half of Manhattan, and have had a seat on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for over 15 years in addition to having been cloned in a secret Chinese tennis shoe (Nike) factory!
