This evening, for probably the fifth time since I've lived in Montgomery, I managed to use my electric hedge trimmer to cut the BRIGHT ORANGE extension cord attached to it.
SZZSSSttt.
I may be above average in the rate at which I cut 'em, but I can't be alone in doing so. (Can I?) How about an annual Cord Recycling Day? All of the do-it-yourselfers like me who can't seem to manage to keep the cord and the blades apart would be able to leave our BRIGHT ORANGE cords at the curb. The city or county could sponsor a cottage industry of folks repairing the things. Then again, maybe I'll just buy a gas powered trimmer.
LOL! How have you managed to not get electrocuted?

Oh, Tim!
ReplyDeleteBuy a 2-stroke gasoline fueled trimmer!
Electric?
Are you okay?
What were you thinking?
You are not alone. I have done the same with an electric chainsaw. Though at least I have only destroyed one cord that way & was able to repair it.
ReplyDeleteI have repaired my extension cord three times due to my new electric hedge trimmer. But it is so much better than the old-fashioned hedge clippers. When I first got my electric ones, I finished the job iin no tiime that used to take me half a day - then I went around looking for more stuff to cut. Ahhh... the thrill of power tools!!!
