I guarantee this... if folks were stacked atop one another on a gurney style rack, they could be at least four deep in four rows: LEFT/CENTER Left/CENTER Right/RIGHT - arranged thus: |-||-|.
The vertical lines represent racks/berths, the dashes represent the two walking aisles.
Kinda' like racks on a naval vessel, or sleeping berths on a train.
That way, all could lie down, all could be served, all could have legroom, and capacity could be increased.
Thinking more creatively however, micro-airlines could be the "next wave."
What are micro-airlines? Think corporate jets with known clientele.
There would be no hassle, private boarding entrance, no disgraceful public semi-disrobing, "wanding", or baggage searches.
Utterly ridiculous. It looks like the "people movers" at Dulles Airport in Virginia.
