The AP reports that the county in Tennessee where the TVA Kingston Power Plant coal ash spill took place has decided how to spent the $43-Million TVA is giving them to restore their image following the December '08 incident. A lot will go to Roane County schools, and about a million for a public relations campaign. The entire event is going to cost TVA at least $1.2 Billion.
Now, about that $43-Million. Perry County, Alabama is getting about $3 Million in fees for allowing the coal ash to be dumped there.
Question: How much of that will go to restore Perry County's image? Who's watching to see just how any of that money is spent?
[UPDATE: CBS's 60 Minutes is scheduled to tackle the coal ash spill story this Sunday. I don't know if Perry County is part of their story or not. 6:00pm Central Time.]
