What They Really Mean...
...when a reporter or anchor says something came "all the way from" and the place is in North America...what they're really saying is

Of course, it's equally inane to use it whether or not one is well-traveled.
Consider, for example, if someone were to come "'half the way' from" somewhere.
Exactly how would that work?
