Once a friend from Up Nawth flew into BHM airport and rented a car. She was horrified to see only a dealer tag on the car, and had to be assured that this was OK.
And a companion thought...former Birmingham Mayor David Van used to say you could steal a car in Homewood and drive to Mt.Brook and you may as well be in Guatamala because of a lack of coordination in police radio frequencies.
Was it towed for having an expired license plate?
