An EPA hearing begins at 6pm tonight on the "Montgomery Plume"...a mass of underground toxicity underneath dozens of streets in the Capitol City. As I've posted before, the old Montgomery Advertiser building, now owned by Montgomery County, is believed to be the source of some of the chemicals from their printing and photo developing from the 1940's through the 1970's.
Somebody sent me a link to this promotion piece for the planes that drag advertising banners along the beach each summer....and all I could think about was what visual pollution they create! There I am at a beautiful beach with a magnificent sky and here come a noisy plane telling me where to eat and drink?
Some years ago in Birmingham, a billboard Company hosted an art contest, with the winner getting their artwork placed on...you guessed it...a billboard! Litter on a stick and art at the same time. What a partnership!
Pollution comes in many forms.
