MMMM # 226 -- A $500 Top Prize Photo Contest



The City of Montgomery is holding a photo contest called
Your Best Shot

Top Prize is $500
2nd place wins $250.
3rd wins $100

The rules:
Image should be:
300 dpi
8”x12”
Either Landscape or Portrait.
Entries should be appropriate for all ages to view,
Entries must be of a building in the City of Montgomery.*


Photos must have been taken between January 1, 2012 and October 15, 2012.
Entries will only be accepted between October 1 and October 16, send via email to bestshot.mgm@gmail.com.
Finalist will be announced November 1.
Finalists will be asked to submit matted and printed images with a 3” black matte.
Finalists will be asked to complete a Photographic Materials Use Agreement Entries must not have been entered in any previous competitions.
Photo may be enhanced to compensate for technical quality and esthetics but should not be “doctored” (e.g. adding objects that were not originally in the picture).
Collages will be rejected.
A minimum resolution of 3600x2400 pixels is recommended but not required.
A limit of 1 photograph may be submitted for each competitor.
Photographer must own all rights to any photographs entered in this competition.
Submission of an entry to the competition automatically constitutes the acceptance of all conditions set forth in the above rules.
Incomplete entries will not be included in the competition.
Winners will be notified in November.

The city wants to use the photos to create an archive, though without seeing the "Use Agreement" mentioned in the rules, I can't tell if you are handing over the rights to the photo you enter or not.
