MMMM # 237 --The Twitchy Generation = First Globals?

     NPR included an interesting report a few weeks ago about the generation some call the First Globals.

• They don't buy houses, being content to rent. 
• They don't own "stuff". They like public service. 
• They don't marry or have kids, at least not till later. 
• And they don't stay in one place very long...and it's that last trait that has me worried about their contribution to the media.

     There's always been a problem, with broadcasting reporters especially, failing to stay in one place long enough to really know something about the communities they're reporting on. A year or two doesn't really qualify as long enough to know the place and the people....and if that isn't a basic qualification for journalism, I don't know what is.
