The son of Alabama's new head of all-things-police has been arrested on drug charges, and that's good news.
Not for Republican Spencer Collier, the newly appointed Secretary of Law Enforcement..he and his family will now have to go through some real trauma, and that is a shame.
But it could be a good thing to have someone in that position who can see the other side of the law enforcement looking glass. That's presuming he's not going to suddenly toss his son to the curb.
23 year old Christopher Collier will being court the morning of May 6th. He's out on bail.
Collier and his wife have three other children. He was a State Trooper before he was elected to The House in 2002.
Now Governor Bentley, running for re-election, will have to decide whether to replace the elder Colllier in the state's brand new top law enforcement post.
The Colliers can be glad that Bentley has not been a throw-'em-in-jail and throw away the key kinda Republican.
