Georgia already boasted a larger workforce of skilled movie producing men and women, and better flight connections (at least in Atlanta). Now they will be able to boast of probably the largest movie making studio in the SouthEast.
Pinewood Studios, of James Bond franchise fame, is opening it's first American studio on 288 acres in Fayette County. At least they'll find lots of them (piney woods) there. The announcement means lots of money flowing into the state.
And they already had Tyler Perry's studios.
Alabama has been working harder to attract Hollywood, including a Post-secondary effort to train movie studio workers called EMPACT. But over the years, politics and, I think, a reluctance to rub shoulders with Hollywood types, has hurt the state's effort to attract movies. Or maybe it's just poverty.
