Coke is producing a series of bottles commemorating the Civil Rights Movement. They go on sale tomorrow.
There aren't too many companies in the South that can point to a "right-side-of-history" record in the 1950's and 1960's. Most took no stand, rather than offend any customers. That's true of the media as well, as has been pointed out on this website.
It's sometimes easier to look back and see what the right thing was, rather than knowing it at the time, and acting on it.
And companies write their own corporate histories, and they usually ignore inconvenient truths from the distant past.
