The German news magazine Der Spiegel reports the U.S. spied on The E.U. headquarters, treating it as a target of spying the same way it treats China and Russia, though relations with the European Union are supposed to be that of friends.
The story also says the U.S. treats Germany itself as a third-class nation.
The revelations are the continued result of documents stolen and leaked by NSA employee Edward Snowden.
I'm not naive...we all know nations keep secrets...and we all know that what is said in public is not necessarily what a country really believes...and more than what you say about a relative at Thanksgiving dinner is what you really think. Still, it smarts to be busted, and your relationship with that relative may never recover.
Should Snowden be charged with a death-penalty offense?, presuming he isn't allowed to escape to China or Russia or Cuba or....
