Quitters

When you agree to take a job...heck...spend hundreds of thousands of dollars seeking it!..isn't it in bad form to quit before your period of employment is over?
Not according to anyone I can find quoted today regarding Beth Chapman, who's is resigning 17 months early to go take a job in the private sector up in Birmingham where she lives.
GOP Chair Bill Armistead is fine with it:
" I would like to wish her well in her future endeavors, as I know that she will do a fine job.
At least he's consistent. When Democrat Sue Bell-Cobb quit her job as Chief Justice Armistead praised her decision too:
“I respect and admire the fact that she wants to spend more time with family.”
Of course in that circumstance, Republican Governor Bentley was going to be able to replace Bell-Cobb, giving the court a 100% Republican membership. Now Bentley can pick one of the three Republicans who announced their candidacy for the SOS job to go in and get used to the offices.

Both Chapman and Bell-Cobb used August 1st as their I'm-outa-here dates.

  1. She would not be leaving had it not been for Tim Lennox's story. The next question is where does Luther Strange live? If is is claiming a homestead exemption on a house not in Montgomery that would be his legal residence.

  2. True biz?

    If so--congratulations, Tim!

I filed a complaint about an officer at my polling place, two elections ago, but I never heard from her.

She, and apparently Big Luther, are seemingly following the tradition of Jan Cook, n0-show at the PSC until she was voted out.
