MMMM # 416 Checkbook Journalism

   
  On The Media reported over the weekend that NBC News paid cash for stories twice in recent weeks. Checkbook journalism is the title that used to apply to that kind of thing.
     Who cares? Because a) the network may be telling only the seller's perspective of the story and b) the audience has no idea that money has been paid.
