Yes, we have SNOW and ICE in Montgomery....

      

     But up in Birmingham the forecasters apparently didn't do as good a job, or officials failed to listen if they did..and thousands of school kids are still stuck in school. Here's what The Shelby County Reporter reported a while ago:

The Shelby County School System released this alert at 3 p.m.:
“In light of the severe weather all Shelby county schools are prepared to provide a safe environment until which time parents can pick up their children. If it becomes necessary for students to stay overnight each school will provide an environment in which all will be cared for.
Shelby County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday Jan. 29.
