A Federal Judge has declared unconstitutional most of a state law in Arkansas that bans most abortions by saying they are illegal if there is the presence of a heartbeat. The L.A. Times reported the judge:
.....ruled that viability – or the fetus’ ability to survive outside the womb – was the determining factor in abortion law and that Arkansas’ law was therefore unconstitutional"
A similar bill is under consideration in Alabama.
It has been approved by The House and now goes to the State Senate.
The Alabama legislature doesn't care. They are intent on upholding the state motto, "We dare defend our rights."
ReplyDeleteIn other words, "We don't need no stinkin' Federal judges."
