"Rates dropped in 43 states in April"
Alabama was one of those two states, and the State Department to Labor spins it this way: seasonal adjustment played a part in the increase.
But all state rates rise and fall based on the same factors, no?
Or are the seasons somehow unique in Alabama.
Do we have a special season tucked in between Winter and Spring---maybe Wing--- in which people are suddenly tossed out of work?
More spin from state officials:
"There's (sic) two different numbers we put out today. One is the unemployment rate and the other tells how many jobs Alabama's economy is supporting and we did have good news on that front. We had more than 10,000 jobs added over the past month and more than 15,000 over the past year so that's certainly good news."
