Alabama (Politics) Burning

No real surprises in Tuesday's Primary elections...though one School Board race in Montgomery saw the longtime incumbent defeated.
Now it's on to the real election in November.
Democrat Republican Democrat Parker Griffith is out with a day one online video with three themes: Expand Medicaid, Start a Lottery, and get more jobs. Those are three areas where Republican Incumbent Robert Bentley seems vulnerable. But Bentley is wildly popular. Ironically, that popularity comes from his promise not to accept a paycheck till unemployment is lower. As Griffith points out in his Alabama Burning campaign video, Alabama was the only state with an increasing jobless rate in April. The State Treasury benefits a bit from not paying Bentley, but would benefit a lot more if more Alabamians were working.
Watch the video. Comments on YouTube have been disabled, but I'll leave that feature open here as long as folks behave themselves. Yea, right. We'll see. Play nice now.
