Passing Turing

Machine or boy?
The "Turing Test" is designed to recognize the time when a computer has can communicate with a human, and the human can not tell it is communication with a machine.
Now a computer program may have just passed the exam.
It convinced a panel of humans 30% of the time that it was a 13 year old boy named Eugene Goostman.

[UPDATE 10:00am 6-9-14: This story includes a sample of an earlier "conversation" with "Eugene" (they would not release a transcript of the actual one)...and as the story indicates, at that point it would seen easy to tell it was not a real person.]

[UPDATE 2 7:22pm 6-15-14: The Smithsonian has a story questioning just what the test is actually measuring.]
