Saturday Status: Bookend Interviews

I do love the work I do.
Friday morning was a pretty good example of why.
Early in the day, on the Alabama News Network morning show, I had the privilege of interviewing a pilot who was in the air on D-Day in WWII. Friday was the 70th anniversary of that day.

Colonel Bud Anderson told about looking down at the coast of France as the invasion progressed, the event that made the war winnable for the Allies.

Then, anchoring the Noon news, I had another privilege, to interview Montell Jordan, who's breakthrough 1995 hit was "This is How We Do It", but who now is a pastor.

He'll be performing this (Saturday) afternoon, 3:00pm, at the Montgomery Riverfront Amphitheater.
As The Montgomery Advertiser wrote it up:

I Am More Than ..., a youth empowerment initiative, will present "Breakin' Chains: This is How We Do It" beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Riverfront Amphitheatre. The featured artist will be Montell Jordan, with other performances by True Divine, FAT Ministry, The Good Doctor, D'Aye, Torrey Davone, DLS DJ Team and a cultural dance by the Mowa Tribe. There will also be giveaways. The I Am More Than ... group celebrates cultural individuality and diversity and encourages nonviolence. Tickets are $3. 296-3024.

Two very different people with amazingly different backgrounds, but both interesting, both with stories to tell, and me sitting there facilitating that telling. Lucky me!
