Sunday Focus: The War to End All Wars at 100

Imagine for a moment it it the year 2100...

...babies born in 2014 are becoming middle-aged men and women in their young 90's, beginning their second or third careers. That's not especially noteworthy, since life-expectation has grown dramatically in the previous century. The oldest man alive is 155.

In New York City, a commemoration is scheduled for the anniversary of a war that few people truly remember from personal experience. Guides help explain the events to small crowds of tourists at a museum that has been re-opened for the 100th anniversary of the start of the war.

That may be the experience of our ancestors a century from now, just as most of us today struggle to understand how WWI started 100 years ago.

  1. What is the name of this museum and where is it located?

  2. That would be the WTC 9-11 museum, the one with the controversial gift shop. It was fiction that I was writing, projecting a century into the future to imagine how much people will know about 9-11, the way we seem to know little about WWI.
