MSNBC' Rachael Maddow took on the Mike Hubbard story on her cable show....though I have to point out to her the GOP claim that Democrats ruled Alabama for 136 years is plain and simple BS.

Abraham Lincoln was a Republican.
The parties switched places here in The Deep South, Rachael.
Nonetheless, an interesting Alabama-centric commentary.
And by the way, the GOP has been using that "Democrat" Party for a long time...it gives them a way to avoid saying the positive word "Democratic" in connection with their opposites.
I can see why Rachel was excited about this news, but your comments are right on, Tim! When I was growing up, the party bosses in Alabama were all "Dixiecrats." Now, they are all still of that "Dixiecrat" ilk, regardless or party banner.
