The number of people killed in pedestrian/train accidents is increasing in the U.S., including a group of people hit by a train in California on Saturday as they were taking photos of the sunset.
908 people died during "trespassing" incidents, as the railroad industry calls them, in the U.S. 2013.
There were 22 of those deaths in Alabama that same year, ranking Alabama 9th in the nation. There were fewer fatal accidents in both states involving railroad crossings.
