One week before the expiration of a stay of a Federal Judge's order overturning Alabama's ban on same-sex marriage, this ad will be running on TV in the state.
Top State officials want the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to continue the stay till the U.S. Supreme Court decides the issue, probably this Summer.
Probate judges say there is no way they can be ready to issue same-sex marriage licenses a week from Monday...the forms are wrong etc...they predict "mass confusion".
[UPDATE: The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Alabama's appeal, and the plaintiffs are asking that court to simply lift the stay and let marriages begin...Alabama would be the first Deep South state with legal gay marriages.]
