The Anniston Star has a story about the way the Alabama Board of Pardons and Parole does NOT tell an inmate why parole was denied. And the inmate is not permitted to be present for the hearing at which that decision was made!

If there was an error in her file, she could easily have told parole board members at the hearing — had she been there. Alabama doesn’t allow inmates to attend their own parole hearings.

  1. Is that a Confederate flag in the parole board's official seal?

  2. Yup, along with the other flags Alabama was under, though some might argue that was not a "legitimate" flag.
