It wasn't all heroism in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon Bombing.
Some cops assigned themselves to the case, endangering other officers and civilians:
The report by the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency said the overall response was “a great success,” but it criticized cops who “self-deployed” to the hunt for Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev and joined in the shootout just after midnight April 19, 2013.
