"....the last twist in a twisty life"

That's a line from the Washington Post obituary of former Alabama State Trooper James Bonard Fowler, who died this week. He eventually plead guilty to manslaughter in the death of Civil Rights activist Jimmie Lee Jackson in Marion.
The murder was depicted in the movie SELMA...the one that took place inside a restaurant. It was a precursor of the Trooper beatings of marchers on the Edmund Pettus Bridge days later.

It is for a sure a great read, and includes information about Fowler that, if I ever knew, I had forgotten.
