Not for the first time, and likely not for the last, I have found myself up against a technological brick wall.
My parents put their foot down at the thought of a PC.
The forbade any of the children from buying one for them. They wanted nothing to do with the then new world of email and the web and buying stuff online. And we let them have their way.
Now there are the devices that sit on your desk waiting for you to say their name...and then do your bidding...play a song, read the news, fine a recipe, look up a phone number. Of course that means they are listening to you. All of the time.
Do you own an Amazon Echo or a
Google's OnHub...a router, but more than that.
Do you regret the purchase? Or do you welcome the machine?
Unlike my parents, I kinda like the idea...but not so much that I quickly used the credit card to buy one.
