Labor

With a Socialist, pro-worker presidential candidate doing so well in the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination (that would be Sen. Bernie Sanders), I read an article about increases in labor unions with interest.
The article is HERE online and it is from Anzalone-Liszt, the Democratic polling firm founded in Montgomery.

It maintains that union membership is returning to pre-recession levels (though I would have thought the Great Recession would itself have increased union membership!). Union membership is still just 11% percent.
Alabama is one of the so-called "right to work" state...one of those where legislatures have made it more difficult for unions to form. And three more states have joined that list during the recession.
The article quotes PEW research as finding that almost one-third of Republicans favor labor unions.
