We sometimes joke that we attract bad customer service, though I'm not sure there is such a force in nature.
From lack of attention to truly negative insulting comments, we have run across all kinds of poor customer service. I sometimes wonder if employees have made the connection between the hard earned cash I am handing them (or swiping to their employer) and the money they get on payday.
A couple of times the service has been so awful that we though we were trapped in some kind of hidden-camera psychology experiment. "Will they break? Get the clerk to spill something!"
Gallup is out with a poll today about customer service in a variety of businesses, with banks and pharmacies getting the highest marks.
