The Good Life

What makes a good life? It varies greatly across cultures and societies and countries, but there are some general factors. The folks at PEW delved into it and found wealth, duh, is one of the factors that contribute to a happy life.
"...well-being is notably better for people in Norway and the U.S. than it is for people in Turkey and Mexico."

But look between the lines and you'll find some unexpected information in this big study and resulting report.
For example, volunteering makes for a better life, and even contributes to a "virtuous cycle" (as opposed to a "vicious cycle") that can make an entire society better, even for those who neither volunteer nor directly benefit from it.

Not sure what lesson there is to be learned from this, but almost all of the top ranked countries are in cold climates.
